In October 2002, the Levadia Library started the project
“Creating Public Centre of Information”,
which was 75% financed by
ΕΤΠΑ
(explain what this is)
and
25 %
by national (Greek?) funds. This was done after a proposal
of participation in the Business Program “The Society of
Information”, in Metro 1:1 “Equipment and Network at All
Levels of Education”, category of Acts 5: “Creating of
Public Centres of Information”
The project included infrastructure, equipment, network
connection and organizing of an IT-centre at the Library
facilities. The library concentrated on the guarantee of
access for the public with a series of information themes,
such as education, culture, economical development, etc,
aiming at the familiarization and integration of public in
the Information Society.
